Baking as Social Action - Step Two

I forgot to take my camera to the Poetry as Social Action symposium yesterday, but it was a lovely day and my baking efforts were appreciated by the poets. I made a vegan chocolate cake, a lemon syrup loaf, a sultana and apricot loaf and sticky brazil nut slice. Every morsel was consumed. Yay.

I also found the perfect image of 'Baking as Social Action' in a 1959 Saturday Evening Post, which I turned into a sign for my cake stall. The picture is advertising a telephone with an extra long cord, which enables this happy housewife to arrange her star shaped cookies while chatting on the phone. An early example of multi-tasking if ever there was one. Too cute!
